Easier AI Voice Assistant Controls

Talking to your Strutt ev¹c is now easier than ever, with simpler controls and a more seamless AI Voice Assistant experience. Tap the AI Assistant icon once to start listening. A long press is no longer required.
  • The AI Assistant stops listening and responds automatically when you finish speaking. If the AI Assistant does not understand your request, it will ask you to repeat it.
  • If background noise prevents listening from ending automatically, tap the icon again to stop it manually.
  • Speak in the same language selected in your system settings for more accurate voice recognition. On-screen text is displayed only in the current system language.
  • When confirming an action, such as deleting a map or Waypoints, answer the question directly. You no longer need to tap the AI Assistant icon again.

What is the Essential Mode on Strutt ev¹c?

The Essential Mode provides a simpler Strutt ev¹c experience for users. One can pre-select which vehicle functions and physical buttons remain available. When Essential Mode is active, the screen displays only essential functions. Restricted settings and management options are greyed out, hidden, or disabled to help reduce accidental operation.

How to Enable Essential Mode

  1. Step 1: Go to Settings > General > Vehicle PIN to create a four-digit Vehicle PIN. If you've already set up your four-digit Vehicle PIN, please proceed to Step 2 instead.
  2. Step 2: Go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Essential Mode and select the functions and physical buttons that should remain available.
  3. Step 3: Enable Essential Mode and enter the Vehicle PIN.
The Strutt ev¹c will restart automatically and apply the selected settings.

When using Essential Mode

  • The Vehicle PIN is required to enable and disable Essential Mode.
  • Permitted functions and buttons cannot be changed while Essential Mode is active. To change them, disable Essential Mode first.
  • Essential Mode remains active after the vehicle is powered off, restarted, or woken from Sleep Mode. Restricted functions will be greyed out, hidden, or turned off. Restricted functions cannot be activated via the physical buttons as well.
  • Even if the Power Button is restricted, it can still be used to power on or wake the vehicle, potentially triggering a safety stop while driving.

Note: When the Essential Mode is enabled or disabled, the Strutt ev¹c will automatically restart. Go to: Settings > Advanced Settings > Essential Mode to see if the Essential Mode is toggled on.

Vehicle PIN and Vehicle Lock Updates

Vehicle Lock and Essential Mode now use the same four-digit Vehicle PIN.
  • Your Vehicle PIN and Auto Lock settings are retained after Vehicle Lock is disabled.
  • Creating a Vehicle PIN does not automatically activate Vehicle Lock. Vehicle Lock must still be enabled manually after setting the PIN.

How to Find a Forgotten Vehicle PIN

If you forget the Vehicle PIN and the Strutt App cannot connect to the vehicle, access the Strutt Mobile App and go to Vehicle Settings > Vehicle PIN to view the PIN.

Note: If you find that your ev¹c is not connected to your Strutt Mobile App, please connect the vehicle to your Strutt Mobile App. On the vehicle screen, go to Settings > Connections > Phone Connection. Use the Strutt App to scan the QR code and complete the connection.

Level Calibration for Slopes and Ramps

If the Strutt ev¹c limits its speed more than expected on slopes or ramps, perform a Level Calibration. This resets the vehicle's reference for determining incline.

Go to: Settings > Quad-drive System > Level Calibration

Before calibrating:
  • Park the Strutt ev¹c on flat, stable ground.
  • Allow approximately 3 to 10 seconds for calibration.
  • Do not drive, move, or shake the vehicle during calibration.

New Low-Priority Takeover Confirmation Setting

The new Low-Priority Takeover Confirmation setting controls whether a lower-priority control method can immediately take over the vehicle.
Go to: Settings > Quad-drive System > Drive Controls
  • When enabled, the driver must confirm before a lower-priority control method takes over.
  • When disabled, the lower-priority control method can take over immediately.

Seat Occupancy Detection

Seat occupancy detection has been removed in Strutt ev¹c software version 1.2.10.6. The vehicle will no longer automatically limit its speed when it does not detect an occupant. Please remain aware of the vehicle and its surroundings during operation.

Adjustable Rear View Camera Light

The Strutt ev¹c rear view camera light can now be customized to improve visibility when using the reverse camera.

Go to: Settings > Display, Lights & Camera > Rear View Camera to toggle the rear-camera fill light settings.
  • Switch the reverse fill light on or off.
  • Adjust the brightness from Level 1 to Level 10. The default setting is Level 5 brightness.

New Co-Pilot and Co-Pilot+ Prompt Tones

Different confirmation tones now play when switching to Co-Pilot or Co-Pilot+. The separate tones make it easier to confirm the current Strutt ev¹c Drive Mode without relying only on the onboard screen.

Updated Hands-Free Settings

The Hands-Free settings for Auto-Pilot have moved to a new location.

Auto-Pilot Hands-Free To enable Auto-Pilot Hands-free, go to: Settings > evSense > Auto-Pilot

Automatic Quad-drive System Data Recovery

During the startup self-check, Strutt ev¹c will automatically attempt to recover Quad-drive System data if an abnormality is detected.
  • Recovery may take more than two minutes. Keep the vehicle powered on until recovery is complete.
  • The vehicle will restart automatically after the data is recovered.

Improvements in the evSense System

Software version 1.2.10.6 improves how Strutt ev¹c responds to narrow spaces, low obstacles, closed doors, and challenging navigation routes.

Reduced Steering Force in Narrow Spaces
In Co-Pilot, Co-Pilot+, Waypoints, and Pathfinder modes, Strutt ev¹c can automatically reduce front-wheel steering force when it detects a narrow surrounding space. This helps lower the risk of the vehicle or its wheels damaging nearby objects while turning.

Low-Obstacle Avoidance in Waypoints and Pathfinder
Waypoints and Pathfinder can now more accurately detect low-lying objects such as shoes, toys, and anti-tip wheels. This feature takes effect only after the obstacle enters the front camera’s detection range. It helps reduce the risk of collisions but cannot guarantee that every obstacle will be detected or avoided.

Continue monitoring the Strutt ev¹c and its surroundings while using Waypoints or Pathfinder.

Doorway Waiting in Waypoints and Pathfinder
If the Strutt ev¹c detects a closed door ahead while navigating in Waypoints or Pathfinder, the vehicle will stop and wait. Once the door is opened, the vehicle will continue toward the selected destination.

Faster Waypoints and Pathfinder Route Planning
Route planning has been improved to help the Strutt ev¹c identify feasible routes more quickly, particularly in narrow spaces. This reduces occurrences of “Route out of reach” and improves the likelihood of successful route planning.

Troubleshooting an Unresponsive Strutt ev¹c Screen

If the vehicle screen freezes or becomes unresponsive, press and hold the Power Button for approximately 10 to 15 seconds. The ev¹c will restart and should return to normal operation.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed an issue where App Control Joystick input did not immediately disable Waypoints or Pathfinder when the App Control Joystick was not the highest-priority control method. Moving the physical Joystick or App Control Joystick now immediately interrupts automatic driving and exits the current mode.
  • Fixed an issue where the Joystick trigger could still respond during Sleep Mode. The trigger is now disabled while the vehicle is asleep.

Known Issues

We are actively working on all known issues and will continue addressing them in future updates.

App & General
  • OTA upgrades may occasionally fail. Please ensure the battery level is at least 50%, that it is connected to WiFi, and that it is not charging before trying to upgrade again if it fails.
  • Wi-Fi networks with browser authentication are not supported.

AI Assistant

  • The AI assistant may be unstable in certain conditions and is unavailable without a Wi-Fi connection.
  • Press and hold the Joystick Button to activate the AI assistant can only be accessed from the Home Screen and Live View Screen.

The evSense System
For a full overview of how evSense detects and responds to obstacles, including its capabilities and current limitations, please refer to the evSense System Guide.

Obstacle Avoidance (Co-Pilot Mode)
  • When passing moving obstacles, the vehicle may slow down noticeably or steer less smoothly. Oncoming or fast-moving objects can trigger abrupt avoidance maneuvers, with a small risk of light contact.
    • In crowded areas, frequent speed changes may make the ride feel less smooth.
    • For busy environments, we recommend using speed level 3 or below.
  • Unexpected braking may occasionally occur near the edges of steep slopes, on open-grid surfaces, in shallow puddles, and at curbs or drop-offs.

Sensing Coverage
  • Cliff and curb detection may be less reliable when walls or other objects sit behind the drop, making the edge harder to identify.
  • Some areas around the vehicle have limited sensing coverage. This includes elevated objects, objects directly above or very close to the vehicle, and irregularly shaped objects directly behind it.

As Strutt ev¹c continues to evolve, driver feedback helps us improve the software experience and shape future updates. If you have questions or need assistance with version 1.2.10.6, contact the Strutt customer support team at support@strutt.inc.

Stay safe, and enjoy the drive!
